Course objectives
Basic knowledge of the Earth and universe (Planetary geography) The task of the subject is the knowledge of the basic influences and laws forming a landscape sphere. It includes mainly geographical consequences of the shape, size and mass of the Earth, its movements and the consequences resulting from the position of the Earth in the universe. A non-replaceable role is played by the knowledge of the orientation on the Earth surface and measurement and determination of time. Part of the lessons is also interconnecting of acquired knowledge with individual elements of physically geographical sphere.
Syllabus
  • 1. The introduction to the study of the planet of Earth
  • 2. The definition of planetar geography and its place in the system of geographical sciences
  • 3. The delimitation of landscape sphere in the framework of geospheres
  • 4. The universe, objects and distances, basical astronomical notions
  • 5. Illusive movement of objects on the celestial sphere and their alignments
  • 6. Earth, its shape, size, and mass
  • 7. The gravity and electromagnet field of the Eart
  • 8. The bases of spatial oriantation on the Earth
  • 9. Time and calendary
  • 10. Basical time units and the methods of the determination of
  • 11. Concequences of effects of endogenous influences on landscape sphere
  • 12. Concequences of effects of exogenous influences on landscape sphere
