Course objectives
The aim of this subject is to repeat the selected basic mathematics curriculum of high school level that will be applied in next semesters during the teaching of professional subjects.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should know and be able to:
- Basic definitions and theorems of mathematics basics.
- Identify principles based on optics in natural processes and technical applications.
- Describe simple experiments and the relationship of the subject matter to practical applications.
- Carry out calculations of simple application examples.
Syllabus
  • 1. Editing expressions (fractional expressions, expressions with powers and roots.
  • 2. Equations and inequalities and their systems (linear, with unknown in the denominator, quadratic, irrational).
  • 3. Exponential and logarithmic equations.
  • 4. Trigonometric equation.
  • 5. Functions (basic knowledge of the functions, a linear function, with absolute values​​, quadratic, power, fractional linear, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions).
  • 6. Sequences and series (arithmetic and geometric sequence, limit of infinite sequences and series and its sum).
  • 7. Vectors, addition and multiplication of vectors, scalar product of vectors, vector and point coordinates in the plane and space.
  • 8. Parametric expression of lines and planes, the general equations of lines and planes, the relative position of lines and planes.
  • 9. Derivative and its applications.
  • 10. Indefinite integral, definite integral and their applications.
