Course objectives
The aim of the course is to deepen knowledge, skills and adjust attitudes in the field of didactics of vocational subjects. Students apply this knowledge when creating their own preparations for teaching units and their own pedagogical self-reflection.
Knowledge : Comprehensive overview of the didactics of secondary vocational schools (technical fields, fields of services, medical fields and others), methods, forms, means suitable for teaching vocational subjects. Diagnosis of secondary school pupils in professional subjects.
Skills : Set goals for teaching vocational subjects, plan and implement educational process activities throughout the school year as well as by individual lesson units.
Attitudes : Acquire the values of pedagogical tact and work with pupils in teaching vocational subjects.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- set specific objectives and content of teaching specific units of vocational subjects (technical, departure-services, medical, etc.);
- apply teaching methods, forms and material resources in teaching specific vocational subjects;
- develop tools for evaluation and pedagogical self-reflection in teaching vocational subjects;
- to elaborate a project of teaching a technical subject.

  • 1. Problems connected with the transition of pupils from primary school to secondary vocational school.
  • 2. Theory of teaching vocational subjects.
  • 3. Educational process. Stages of the educational process.
  • 4. Relationship between theory and practice in teaching vocational subjects.
  • 5. Specific and vocational goals in vocational education in relation to the requirements of professional and pedagogical practice.
  • 6. Organizational forms of teaching according to the way of organization and planning of educational work in secondary vocational education.
  • 7. Personality of teacher of vocational subjects.
  • 8. Quality in teaching vocational subjects.
  • 9. Observation in teaching vocational subjects.
  • 10. Self-reflection of teachers of vocational subjects.
  • 11. Transdisciplinary didactics.
