Course objectives
Music of exotic and non-European cultures. At the end of this course, students should be able to understand this kind of music.
Syllabus
  • Ethnomusicology, its subject, history, Czech ethnomusicology. Asia, India, Arabia, Africa, Australia, North and Latin America. Tectonics and kinetics of ethnic music. Non-European inspiration in music of Euro-American civilization. Didactics of ethnic music.
