Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to develop speaking, reading, writing and listening skills at intermediate level. The basic study material is coursebook Outcomes Intermediate supplemented by various additional materials. Students will have opportunities to improve their language use through discussions, exercises and assignments. The course offers various techniques of language learning and teaching while developing a broader understanding of methodology and English speaking cultures. Students will learn to analyze the language for teaching purposes and will be aware of the fact that they have changed their roles - from being the users of the language into being the source of information about the language and language model providers. Throughout the semester students are encouraged to link theory in the classroom to practice at schools via practical tasks.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students should be able to: discuss everyday topics, communicate in everyday situations, read and listen to authentic texts at the intermediate level, and communicate in the language fluently.
