Course objectives
Teaching style as one of the components of the mother tongue lessons. Students can define the main objectives and tasks of teaching a style at the first grade of elementary schools. He or she can define the style forms for the first grade and he or she is well oriented in the style teaching the subject matter in the Czech language textbooks, he or she masters the teaching style methods. Students are able – to assess the processing of a didactic style in selected types of textbooks; - compare the contents of the curriculum for each year with the basic schools documents; - to create various types of stylistic exercises for pupils with regard to the acquisition of key competences; - to choose appropriate methods and forms of work based on the pupils´ vocabulary.
Learning outcomes

  • 1. Goal and contents of teaching composition in primary school. 2. Composition teaching matter in syllabi, textbooks and instructional books for basic schools. 3. Characteristics of composition forms taught in primary schools. 4. Teaching methods of compsition. 5. Correction of the spoken utterances. 6. Themes of the stylistic essays. 7. Utilisation of composition teaching matter in other subjects. 8. Preparation of the teachers for stylistic teaching.

Teaching methods
The main method is a lecture supplemented by practical examples, then the interpretation of the problem, and the methods of research.
Assessment methods
The type of the lesson: lecture The course is closed by a credit. The credit test requirements: very good knowledge of basic school documents (Basic School Programme and RVP ZV) and the Czech language textbooks for elementary levels of Basic Schools. The knowledge is verified by a written test containing 30 questions. Student must answer correctly 25 of them.
