Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain the basic knowledge of elementary geometric objects and relations in plane and space, especially geometric mapping. The main aim is orientation in notions of system of geometry,evolution of spatial visualization and preparing of students for education of elementary schoolchildren.

Syllabus
  • Basic terms of elementary geometry in 3D space, their properties and relations. Symmetries in the plane. Composition of symmetries. Group of planar congruencies. Aplication of symmetries in subject matter of elementary school. Reciprocal position of points, lines and planes. Solution of positional exercises in 3D space - intersection of line and plane and intersection of two planes. Free parallel projection, principle and it's aplication during solution of positional exercises. Aplication - intersection of pyramid and cube with plane. Elementary geometrical solid bodies. Polyhedra, their free parallel projection. Meshes of polyhedra. Geometrical solid bodies in subject matter of elementary school. Projection, geometrical projections in plane and in 3D space. How geometry is related to other subjects as well as to the world around us.
