Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with selected topics of general didactics, the theory of education, curricular theory and the history of the Czech educational system. The course is aimed to present the Czech schooling system in a wider cultural context. It contributes to the development of pedagogical thinking in the multicultural perspective.
Learning outcomes
Upon finishing the course the student can: • explain and justify the transformation of the curriculum of basic education; • describe the objectives, content and means of education; • use an example to characterize a system of schooling in a specific country; • describe a specific aspect of the system of schooling in its historical perspective.
