Course objectives
The aim of the course is to consider various methods of solving elementary mathematical problems and discuss their nontrivial modifications. Students are encouraged to search related problems and to realize the achieved mathematical education.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be able to use various nontrivial methods for solving standard problems and to identify, search and solve related problems.
Syllabus
  • Various problems and topics, e.g. selected Diophantine equations, sequences and thei sums, recurrence relations, discrete vs. infinitesimal calculus, discrete vs. continuous groups of transformations.
