Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: - understand of notional apparatus and mastering elementar science system of pedagogy ; - create a database of basic technical terms and their mutual connections; - interpret ideas of most considerable representatives of world's and Czech pedagogy, understand benefits of their works for current and future development - compare individual attitudes to upbringing with focus on pre-primary education
Syllabus
  • 1.Pedagogy, subject of pedagogy, origin, structure. Relation of pedagogy to other sciences. Meaning of pedagogic science - pedagogy as directive, explorative and explantive theory. 2.Pedagogic research and methodology. 3.Conception of upbringing and her conditionality. Education and educational reality. Educational processes. Upbringing, education, teaching and learning, upbringing in narrower sense. 4.Purposes of upbringing and allowance principles. 5.Upbringing functions. 6.Resources and forms of upbringing. 7.Anthropogenic factors of upbringing (treacher and educated subject) and their mutual relations in allowance of the process 8.Theory and methodology of comparative pedagogy. Education system: structure and behaviour. Pregraduated, prime and basic education. Higher secondary, tertiary and university education. 9.History preprimary school. Pedagogic legacy of J.A. Komenský, J.J. Rousseau, F.Fröbel, J.V. Svoboda, M. Montessori et al... 10. External pedagogic systems and Czech progresive tradition like inspiration for moderne Czech schools: waldorf, montessori, frainet, dalton school .... 11.Alternativ schools and their development at our place.

Theoretical preparation in the form of a lecture with independent study of specialized sources
Assessment methods
Credit test. Written test with 15 questions, to pass 10 questions have to be answered correctly.
