Course objectives
At the end of the course students should understand the Genres and the history of the German written juvenile literature and they should be able to analyse the literary juvenile works and to compare them with the Czech juvenile literature.
Syllabus
  • Childrens lyrical poetry. Nursery rhyme. Reflexive lyrics, nonsens poetry, rebus, riddle. Riddle and their development. Picture book, comics and their development. Illustration in the childrens literature and the outstanding illustrators. The realistic juvenile novel. 2. world war in the juvenile literature. Fantastical story and a fantasy, elementary signs and differences. Magazines for chidren and their development. Religious childrens literature. Secondary literature: Collective: Einführung in die deutsche Kinder- und Jugendliteratur der Gegenwart. Publishing house Jugend und Volk, Vienna 1992.
