Course objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarise students with the technical terminology, acquaint the outline about the partial disciplines of the field of study, to understand the base of the lexeme structuralism and to get to know the principles of word-stock division.
Syllabus
  • subject of the field and partial disciplines of lexicology lexeme, its definition, denotative and conotative meanings typology of meaning changes onomasiology and semasiology, their application in lexicography polysemy and its sources, metaphor and metonymy syntagmatic and paradigmatic relationships in word-stock homonyms, synonyms, antonyms, hyperonyms, hyponyms and kohyponyms theme rows, theory of word fields
