Course objectives
The aim is to provide a theoretical overview of the genres and texts of German children´s and juvenile literature, in order that the students will be able to apply the knowledge when working with a literary text at school.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be able to work with a complex theoretical overview of the genres and history of German children´s and juvenile literature; they will be able to apply the knowledge when working with a literary text at school; they will be able to analyse contemporary German children´s and juvenile literature.
Syllabus
  • Understanding German children´s and juvenile literature, genres of children´s literature, genres of juvenile literature, children´s lyrical poetry, history of children´s literature, didactics of fairy tale, picture books, songs, lyrical poetry, comics.
