Course objectives
This course deals with the basic fields of German lexicology and Stylistics. It presents the system of semantic clusterings in the word-stock (synonymy, homonymy, lexical opposition, lexical hierarchy, collocations...) and points out lexical divergences between German and Czech (partly also English), German word-formation and stylistic features of German texts. Lexicography as a part of lexicology is not as separate chapter in this course - relevant dictionaries are presented in every respective chapter.
