Prerequisites
The English course for lower-intermediate students (level A2 CEFR) who can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.

Course objectives
At the end of the course, the students should be able to speak on chosen topics, read and find relevant information in the text, listen to and understand basic recordings and master appropriate A2-level vocabulary and grammar.
Syllabus
  • Vocabulary: Topic 1 Education in the CR and abroad. Focus on tertiary education. Topic 2 Work and professions. Personal experience;
  • Topic 3 Jobs, Family, Daily routine, Travelling, Food, Education, Shopping, Weather, Countries);
  • Grammar: Revision of Tenses, Modals, Articles, Adjectives, Prepositions); Listening comprehension: A2-level recordings.

Teaching methods
Practical language course: home and in-class reading, grammar and vocabulary practice, class discussions, presentations, on-line learning.
Assessment methods
Continuous assessment. Final A2-level test. In order to be credited, the student must successfully pass (70% pass limit) the final A2 test(reading, vocabulary, grammar, listening).
