Course objectives
This course is mainly meant to serve as preparation for communication in practical situations where we can use the puppet as a means for communication to children. With the help of short scenarios with objects emphasis is put on the development of imagination and creativity. Animated things and puppets can offer a diverse scale of human qualities, which is the reason why emphasis is put on etudes using puppet play and object animation. At the end of this course students will be able to differentiate between various types of puppets, use the puppet for communication with a child and for problem solving. They will also be able to animate objects, prepare a script for a puppet show and evaluate the importance of using puppets for the development of imagination, fantasy and problem solving skills.
