Course objectives

The main objectives of the course are to introduce the students to comparative studying of Russian literature; to learn them how to understand the poetics of Russian literature; to understand the problems of Russian literature and culture; to understand the relations of Russian folklore and literature; to understand and to analyse the relations between the styles, movements and genres in their historical evolution; to learn students the history of Russian literature and its relations with the historical and political conditions in Russia and to evocate their interest in reading and interpretation of verbal art, studying of secondary literature, visiting the cinema and theatre.
