Course objectives
Students should acquire the basics of syntax in literary Russian by the means of comparing Czech and Russian. Students should acquire the knowledge of simple sentences pattern.
Syllabus
  • 1. Syntax as a grammatical part. The subject of syntax. 2. Syntactical units and their relations in sentence. 3. Simple sentence. Complex and compound sentence. 4. One-element and two-element sentences (minor and major clauses). 5. SV sentence and SVOC sentence. 6. Main and subsidiary sentence elements. 7. Nominative and its formulation. 8. Use of personal pronouns in nominative. 9. Formulation of predicate. Attributive predicate. 10. Appositional predicate. 11. Compound nominal predicate. Compound nominal predicate, copular verb. 12. Compound verbal predicate.
