Course objectives
Russian language structure in system and in functional communicative perspective. Introduction to simple, complex, and compound sentence structure, their grammar and meaning. Study of syntactical theories from text analysis.

  • 1. Evolving sentence elements. 2. Attributive adjective, appositional adjunct. 3. Apposition. 4. Object. Direct and indirect object. 5. Complement. 6. Adverbials and modes of expression. 7. One-element sentences: with definite nominative, indefinite nominative, general nominative. 8. One-element sentences: subject less, nominal. Incomplete sentences. 9. Compound and Complex sentences. General characteristics. 10. Compound sentence. Classification. 11. Complex sentence. Classification. 12. Clauses.
