Course objectives
The course develops language knowledge and communication skills of the student, attention is paid to linguistic components selected topics, grammatical and lexical structures are practiced in different communicative situations through complementary exercises that are focused on the development of receptive and productive skills and verbal interaction. The course offers a preparatory exercises to improve verbal and written expression, situational exercises and discussions.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to work with authentic texts in Russian language, properly react in different communicative situations, difficult to explain linguistic phenomena in comparison with Czech.

  • 1 to 2. Tourism. Active holiday. Tourist attractions in Russia and Czech Republic. Irregular verbs. 3 to 4. House and apartment. Living in a village. Repeating the timing of irregular verbs. 5 to 6. Cultural events. Culture and Youth. Exhibitions, concerts, festivals. Repetition of adjectives. 7 to 8. The culture in our lives. Prominent foreign artists. Interrogative and relative pronouns. 9 to 10. Healthy food. Russian, Czech and international cuisine. Indefinite pronouns. 11 to 12. Actual topics today. Revision.

Teaching methods
Seminar, class discussion on given topics, homework, group projects within the areas discussed, reading and listening of Russian texts.
Assessment methods
The course ends with a written and oral final exam.
Requirements for admission to the examination are active participation in class and regular assessment and doing the required home assignments.
Final exam is composed of written and oral parts. Final written test examines all student´s knowledge of Russian grammar and practical language. After successfully writing final test student can go to the oral part of exam. The oral exam contains the discussion with the teacher, the reading (Russian book(s) – 200 p.) and the listening (Russian movie). The student will also bring a vocabulary exercise book, which will contain at least 50 new words.
