Course objectives
After this course students should know how to work individually with a literary text; they should also be able to understand the poetics of Russian literature; to understand the problems of Russian literature and culture; to understand the relations of Russian folklore and literature; to understand and analyse the relations between the styles, movements and genres in their historical evolution as well as to learn the history of Russian literature and its relations with the historical and political conditions in Russia. Their interest in reading and interpretation of verbal art, studying of secondary literature, visiting the cinema and theatre should be also evocated.
