Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the realities of contemporary Russia and its traditions and holidays. Students should learn what the life in present Russia is like, as well as what the Russian traditions are.They should also learn basic Russian cultural phenomenon and their projection into Russian language. Students should also improve their knowledge of Russian as well as they should improve their verbal skills.
Syllabus
  • The emphasis is put on the relationship between study of language and study of the life and institutions within the basic topics: 1. RF: the position and its state border. 2. Geographical overview of Russia. 3. Political system. Current policy. 4. Moscow. 5. Sankt-Peterburg. 6. Golden Circle and Kizhi. 7. Special features of Russian architecture. 8. Orthodox religion and Catholicism. 9. Religious and bank holidays. 10.Used art. 11.Habits and traditions. 12.Russian character.

Lectures,theoretical preparation for the exam during the study.
Assessment methods
The written test. The written test usually consists of 10 questions rated 30 points. To successfully manage the need to reach at least 21 points.
