Course objectives
The objective of this subject is intensification knowledge of the Russian culture. The acquirement of the relation between the study of the language and realities and the national connotation of the word is important. The emphasis is placed on the reading and listening of the authentic texts trom Russian periodicals and art literature.
Syllabus
  • 1.Russian arts. Icons, frescoes and mosaics. Iconpainters A. Rublev, F. Grek others. Painting of the late 19th century. Peredvizhniki. 3. Modern art (20th century). 4. Development of Russian music. Folk song. 5. Russian classical music. The Five. Tchaikovsky. 6. The Russian composer of the 20th century (Stravinsky, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, etc.) 7. Music directions and genres of modern music. Author's song. 8th Ballet. Russian seasons. 9th Theater. Skomorokhi and puppet theater (Petrushka). 10.The theaters of Moskow and Saint Petersburg. Playwrights and directors. 11.Developement film in the 20th century. Main themes and genres. 12.Russian national symbols. Czech-Russian cooperation in the field of culture.

Teaching methods
Seminary, discussion, presentation.
Assessment methods
Attendance 80% (two absences allowed). Attendance is required also for these students who have the subject registered as repeated. Project – every student must hand in a project/presentation (in Russian) during his study. The topic can be chosen by the student according to his interests, but must be consulted beforehand.
