Prerequisites (in Czech)
This course provides an in-depth exploration of the challenges and strategies involved in educating individuals with hearing impairment. Students will delve into the multifaceted nature of hearing impairment within the educational context, including its impact on language acquisition, cognitive development, and social integration. Through a combination of theoretical study, case analysis, and practical exercises, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of deaf studies and related disciplines. Additionally, students will examine the intersections of hearing impairment with fields such as psychology, linguistics, and technology to broaden their perspective on inclusive education.

Course objectives (in Czech)
Understand the challenges and complexities associated with educating individuals with hearing impairment within diverse cultural and linguistic contexts. Examine the cognitive, linguistic, and social-emotional development of individuals with hearing impairment and their impact on educational outcomes.
Learning outcomes (in Czech)
Critically assess current research literature and best practices in the field of education for individuals with hearing impairment. Reflect on personal attitudes, biases, and assumptions related to hearing impairment and cultivate a culturally responsive and empathetic approach to working with individuals with hearing impairment.
