Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic diagnostic methods of examination of functional vision in children with visual impairment, adults and seniors with visual impairment and people with MDVI in the context of support and intervention. Students will get acquainted with special pedagogical tests of examination of visual functions and skills, with the activities of low-vision therapists, intervention, rehabilitation and reeducation procedures in the field of low-vision therapy.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- define the scope and scope of work of the low-vision therapist, including the legislative anchoring
- be familiar with diagnostic methods of examination of visual functions and visual skills in children and adults with visual impairment and people with MDVI
- understand intervention, rehabilitation and reeducation procedures in the field of low-vision therapy
- use special pedagogical diagnostic tests of visual functions
