Course objectives

The course aims to provide competent knowledge of educating children at risk or with emotional and behavioural disorders (EBD) and orientation (assessment) in the child's situation. Students will be familiar with the counselling system and educational facilities (school, counselling, preventive educational care, residential care). The course emphasizes the active participation of students during lessons, individual preparation (reading texts and writing their reflections), and developing the ability to view the issues critically and creatively - independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

Learning outcomes

Upon completing the course, students will have a basic knowledge of the context of emotional and behavioural disorders (EBD), risk and protective factors influencing the development of EBD, their manifestations and forms, and the educational needs of children at risk of behavioural disorders. They will be oriented in the counselling services and educational facilities system.
