Course objectives
Expand knowledge of specific learning disabilities, know the major theories, concepts and methods that are at the forefront of the knowledge industry. Students will understand and be able to explain the issue of inclusive approaches in education of pupils with specific learning disabilities, to use intervention methods for children with specific learning disabilities
Syllabus
  • Basic terms - definition SPU, definitions, symptoms of specific learning disorders, systemic approach to learning - system and causal approach, systematic thinking Etiology of specific learning and behavioral disorders - dispositional causes, environmental impact Detailed analysis of symptoms ADD, ADHD (LMD) Primary and secondary consequences of behavior disorders and specific learning disorders Diagnosis and intervention approaches to specific learning disorders The system of care for children with learning disabilities in the Czech Republic Inclusive education of students with specific learning disabilities, pupils' attitudes towards school and learning, the educational needs of students with learning disabilities Study and professional orientation of pupils with SLD (schools, teachers, therapists) Manifestations of learning and behavioral disorders in personality development, problems of adults Special mental development in children with SLD Resilience in the family and the upbringing of a child with learning disabilities, parents as partners Reeducation, principles, methods dyslexia, dysgraphia, orthography, dyscalculia and other disorders SPU Cognitive processes reflects the personality of individuals with learning disabilities Strategies and approaches to inclusive education of people with learning disabilities Identifying needs-motivation, coping with stress and success of individuals with learning difficulties in the learning process
