Course objectives
The aim of this course is to obtain knowledge from the area of education of individuals with intelectual disability, diagnostics, charakteristics of mental retardation, education and upbringing, system of schools, special educational centres, alternative forms of communication, pre-professional and professional work, legislation, social care institutions, nongovermental organizations. Learning outcomes: At the end of the course student are able to:
describe intellecutal disability, Down syndrome and autism;
work with information on education of pupils with larning disabilty;
name therapies;
understand the system of education;
interpret the legislative framework
