Course objectives
The goal of this course is to present mental impairment. At the end of the course, students will be able to present characteristics of mental impairment, its aetiology, classification, diagnostics, education and upbringing of pupils with mental impairment, the school system and support of special educational centres, Down syndrome. Learning outcomes: At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain what intellectual disability is, they can make reasoned decisions about education of pupils with learning disability and explain Down syndrome.
