Course objectives
The course aims to equip students with knowledge concerning autism spectrum disorders, such as terminology, characteristics of disability, diagnostics, support of individuals with ASD and their families, educational possibilities including the current situation in everyday life. We will introduce research and the overall current situation in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Learning outcomes
- Students can characterize ASD
- The student knows the diagnosis procedures
- Students Focus on the possibilities of educating children with ASD and knows the current situation in practice
- The student has an overview of available literature and its content
- He/she can recommend the adequate literature and movie sources to parents and teachers
- Students can describe ways to work with ASD children
- The student can suggest an intervention procedure in specific cases
