- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the life situation of pupils with various forms of special educational needs - aspects of difficulties and support of a human and professional nature. Students will gain a solid foundation in the terminology and basic concepts of special education. Students will also be informed about the latest trends and research in the field of special education.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be oriented: - in the basic concepts of special education; - the key categories of special educational needs; - the principles of inclusion in different educational contexts; - current trends in the field of special education.

- Life situation of a pupil with special educational needs. A pupil / child with SEN, his/her specifics, needs. Family of a child with SEN. Interdisciplinary cooperation and its importance. Competencies and roles of a special education teacher. Factors shaping the life situation of a child/pupil with SEN. A pupil with SEN in a school environment.
