Course objectives
The aim of the course is to understand and be able to apply knowledge of the gained field (Education of individuals with combined disabilities) in practice. Furthermore, students will deepen their knowledge from the fields of education of individuals with visual, mental and physical impairment and learn how to connect them with knowledge from other fields such as psychology, sociology and medical disciplines (neurology, physiotherapy, psychiatry, ophthalmology, ENT and phoniatry). Outcomes: Students will be taught to use special educational methods (diagnostics and educative) and apply supportive measures in the intervention of individuals with combined disabilities.

  • 1. Education for people with multiple disabilities - definition, subject 2. Definition of the term severe physical disability, etiological factors 3. Basis and prospects of intervention for people with severe disabilities in the Czech republic. 4. Objective, tasks and principles of education for people with severe disabilities. 5. Process and methods of education for people with severe disabilities. 6. Material and technical means of education. 7. The intervention measures, create individual eduacional plan, aspects of the education. 8. Stimulation of gross motor skills, positioning, support for climbing. 9. Stimulation of fine motor skills and sensomotorics. 10. Stimulation of self-care and orientation in space. 11. Developing thinking, imagination and memory. 12. Relaxation and game. 13. General educational program for the field of education special elementary school. 14. Educator´s personality for people with multiple disability. 15. Variability in the development of multiple disability. 16. Special pedagogical diagnostics for people with severe disabilities. 17. Specifics of education for people with severe disabilities. 18. Teaching for children with visual impairment at an early age. 19. Methods of teaching at schools for pupils with visual impairments (specifics), PC, blid and partially sighted. 20. Characteristics of deafblind people, specifics of education, institutional education. 21. Categories of persons with visual disabilities. 22. The system of education for pupils with visual impairment, the specifics of teaching methods and classroom experience. 23. Developement of visual perception and diagnostic of vision with a focus on functional vision. 24. Mobility - special provision for children with severe visual impairment. 25. Counselling services for persons with visual impairment.
