Course objectives
The aim is to deepen and extend the knowledge gained in the subject of Education of pupils with hearing impairment. To discuss the possibilities of communication between children and pupils with hearing impairment and the use of compensatory Tools both in education and in normal life. It will be orientated in the field of social inclusion of the hearing impaired Disabilities, conditions for inclusive education of children and pupils with hearing impairment, counseling in this Areas, including career counseling. The possibilities of offering social services for people will be discussed Hearing impairment and their use. Outputs expected:  orientates in the offer and possibilities of using communication systems for people with hearing impairment in Education;  Focuses on a system of advisory services;  it focuses on the possibilities of applying on the labor market and the possibilities of using social services.

Syllabus
  • Main themes (syllabus):  Possibilities of occupational rehabilitation of people with hearing impairment in the labor market, preparation for occupation. Studying at secondary, higher vocational and higher education institutions.  Communication systems for people with hearing impairment - overview and description, legislative measures, communication Approaches used in education.  Principles for communication between pupils and students with hearing impairment and pedagogues, communication strategies.  Use of visual-motor communication systems in everyday life, in education and in professional Life.  Hearing prosthetics - individual hearing protectors, instruments and aids for individual speech therapy Care and hearing education, compensatory aids and their importance, legislation.  Deaf Community - Deaf Culture, organization of hearing impaired people, deaf clubs, Leisure time activities, journals focusing on the issue of hearing impairment.  Interpreting services for people with hearing impairment, simultaneous transcript of spoken speech.  Hearing impairment in adulthood and in old age.  Hearing defect and other combined disabilities - care of individuals with auditory and other associated defects, The current concept of multiple disabilities, the possibility of augmentative and alternative communication.

Teaching methods
Theoretical preparation, self-study, active participation in teaching, discussion.
Assessment methods
Processing a case study in a range of 2-3 pages of A4 format reflecting the possibilities of using individuals with hearing Disabilities in normal life and in professional life. Written exam (70%) and oral exam.
