Course objectives
Main goals of the course are:
• to provide opportunities for students to work with children whose participation in the education system needs support arrangements
• to arrange an experience for students with an individual as well as group – based work with children
• to introdukce students with the needs and educational specificities of children from socially undemanding environment
• an insight into the field of education of socially disatvantaged children

The study practice, guaranteed by the department of social pedagogy, is provided by the team working in an european project called Centres of support for inclusive education (CPIV Brno). This practice is available only as the project CPIV continues, which means until June 2010 the longest.
Syllabus
  • At the beginning of the semester in which the student wishes to undertake the practice, a meeting with the guarantee (supervisor) of the course takes place. This introductory lesson serves as „getting-to know“ with the content of the practice; with the institutions where the practice will take place; with the basic methods of working with children.
  • Later on, students will be assigned to children and a time schedule of the student’s practice work with the number of hours in a particular school will be set for the whole semester.
  • In the course of the semester, individual methodic consultations and supervision over issues that come up with the practice will also take place.
  • The last lesson before credits are given to a student will be dedicated to presentations of one’s own experiences in the form of colloquium, discussion.
