Course objectives
The purpose of the seminary is to create a discuss frame, in which the students focuse on analysing of present social pedagogy research. At the end of the course, the students will be able to: - Define the basic terms of social pedagogy research, - Explain the basics and structure of social pedagogy as a part of social sciences, - Explain the topical issues of social pedagogy research, outline the possible outcomes and possibilities to solve them, using the facts from the reading and own experience, - Evaluate the importance of topics covered for the theory and practice of social pedagogy, - Explain and define positions and values in the processes of social pedagogy research.
Syllabus
  • 1. The concept of social science research: structure, theoretical background, significance. Classification of science: a quantitative approach and a qualitative approach, so-called soft and hard theory, nomothetic approach and idiographic approach. 2. Basic concepts of qualitative research. 3. Basic concepts of quantitative type of research. 4. Examples výkumných methods: KOA (hermeneutic qualitative content analysis) 5. Examples of research methods: MCA (analysis of meanings) 6. Examples of research methods: IPA (interpretative phenomenological analysis) 7. Examples of research methods: discourse analysis. 8. Examples of research methods: grounded theory.
