Course objectives (in Czech)
Osvojit si základní dovednosti v oblasti činností vokálních; realizovat dechová a hlasová cvičení v praxi; práce s krátkým literárním textem – deklamace. Uplatnění tonální písňové metody a intonačních postupů v praxi v propojení s dalšími hudebními aktivitami. Osvojení si základních taktovacích schémat ve dvoudobém, třídobém a čtyřdobém taktu.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the participant is able to: prove his/her skills in playing a melodic instrument – piano/keyboard/violin; is able to create and  apply in practice musical games to induce a head tone, create breathing support and vocal exercises; elaboration of an author's vocal warm-up for a selected year for the upper grades of primary and secondary school – implementation in  practice, plus addition of reflections; can use intonation exercises in  practice; can apply the Tonal Song Method and the Intonation Procedures into practice in linking with other musical activities; can rhythmizes a short literary text with  the use of declamation; can apply basic conducting schemes in two-beat, three-beat and four-beat rhythms in Music Education teaching at the upper grades of primary and secondary schools.
Syllabus
  • Theoretical Introduction to Didactics of Music Education: Characteristics and Conception of the Subject of Music Education (ME) – music education process; music education activities – classification and characteristics; classification musical abilities; didactic principles of ME; teaching methods and aids; conditions for ME lessons; equipment and time allocation in different schools; Creation of thematic units for ME teaching units; the structure and course of the ME teaching unit; the personality of the Music teacher; evaluation and classification in ME; Reflection/self-reflection. (1 hour) In the  subject Didactics of Music Education 1 there is a  interconnection of the professional education acquired so far knowledge of music theory, harmony, intonation, history of music, theory of musical instruments and practical skills from instrumental teaching and vocal education so that the participant could apply it in  practice. (2 hrs) Vocal activities: components of vocal education; Methodology of learning a monophonic/polyphonic song. Perceptual activities: Intonational and auditory training. Intonational methods: L. Daniel – Tonal Song Method – pitch, melody movement and diatonic progressions; free onset; supporting songs. Basics of conducting in two-beat, three-beat and four-beat time. (2 hrs)

Teaching methods
Practical training: singing – breathing and vocal exercises; monophonic/polyphonic song; Working with a text – a declamation, accompaniment by playing on the body (body percussion), setting the text to music; Conducting – basic schemes in two-beat, three-beat and four-beat time. Playing a piano/keyboard/violin. Developing a tonal feeling; Realization of vocal and intonation exercises in  practice.
Assessment methods
At the credit examination, the participant will demonstrate theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired in  the subject Didactics of Music Education 1. The credit examination consists of practical part (singing, conducting, playing a piano/keyboard/violin): singing and playing vocal exercises on the piano with  the use of modulation chord D7 in  range c1–g2; practical mastering of 10 folk and 10 artificial songs according to own choice (suitable for the upper grades of primary school / secondary school). Portfolio task: Submission of an author's vocal warm-up for a selected grade of the upper grades of primary/secondary school; work with a text – setting a short literary text to music – writing a melody on a staff with  harmonization intended for piano accompaniment.
