Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the development of health education curriculum in the historical context, the aims and content of health education and to describe the anchoring of health education in the curricular documents.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the learner is able to:
- describe the main objectives and content of the educational field of health education;
- describe the trends in health education teaching;
- integrate health education into the education system and the Framework curriculum for primary education.
Syllabus
  • Health, health literacy and health education (1 hour)
  • Subject, aims and tasks of didactics of health education. (1 hour)
  • Development of health education curriculum in the historical context of conceptual changes in the system. (1 hour)
  • Trends in the teaching of health education. (1 hour)
  • Health education in  curricular documents (Framework Educational Program for basic education, Standard for basic education, Methodological comments and tasks for Standards for Primary Education) (1 hour).

Teaching takes the form of seminars, discussions and group work.
Assessment methods
Learners on the selected learning outcome of Health Education will explain the hierarchy of curriculum documents (RVP ZV, Standards of VkZ, Methodological comments of VkZ). The semester assignment is part of the learner's portfolio in the field of didactics.
