Course objectives
Student after successful completion of the subject Household Management is able to: Summarize and assess the basic issues associated with the operation of their own household;
To discuss the preparation and integration of young people into independent life;
Assess simple home repair issues and be able to carry out some repairs;
Is familiar with the issues of healthy lifestyle and healthy living in the apartment;
Knows how to comply with the rules for the application of ecology and hygiene in the home.
Learning outcomes

Syllabus
  • Housing, household, preparation for independent living (rental apartment, cooperative apartment, private property, family house).
  • Household operation (Rent, maintenance fund, energy consumed, water, TV charges, radio, telephone, house cleaning fees, waste, etc.).
  • Electricity in the household (Residential and residential distribution, electrical installation, lighting, heating, air conditioning - economy of operation, maintenance and minor repairs, electric shock hazards, first aid).
  • Electrical and electronic household appliances (Types, principle of operation, operation, safe handling, maintenance, economy of use, energy saving).
  • Household gas (Residential and residential distribution, gas appliances and economy of their operation, maintenance and safety of operation).
  • Household water (Residential and apartment distribution, kitchens, bathrooms, waste management, economy of operation, minor maintenance - simple repairs in practice).
  • Heating apartment, house (System, principle, types of boilers and their principle, solar collectors, economy of operation).
  • Connecting, signaling and security devices (Home telephone, electric gatekeeper, mechanical protection, electronic security systems, security cameras, control of appliances using computer technology and mobile phones, household of the future).
  • Do it yourself (Minor home maintenance, eg replacement of the lock, necessary tools and tools, safety and health protection).
  • Environment and household (Healthy living in the flat, household hygiene (cleaning), maintenance of clothing, plants in the apartment, chemicals, their efficiency and ecological disposal, sorting of waste).
