Course objectives
- Students get to know with basic definitions and terminology and mastering of the main developments in art theory.
- Students learn the ability to interpret theoretical concepts and apply them to their own pedagogical practice.
Learning outcomes
- student will acquire knowledge of the nature of the field
- student knows basic terminology, personality, methodological concepts and developmental stages of art theory
- student will be able to find adequate interpretation of theoretical concepts and uses lessons from different periods for his own pedagogical and creative practice

  • Art theory as part of the theoretical thinking of ancient antiquity; marravia, ekfrasis, cestovopisy and beginnings of descriptions and interpretations of works of art; recipes and descriptions of technologies in Renaissance and Enlightenment

  • Life of the Famous - The Biographical Concept of Theory
  • The birth of art theory in the 19th century - the Vienna School
  • Erwin Panofsky and Ernst Gombrich
  • Postmodern and its representatives
  • Processing commented conspect; interpretation of theoretical text in a professional magazine or catalog for exhibition, bibliography processing and biography into catalogs for exhibitions
