Course objectives
The aim of the lectures is to explain and discuss the structure, objectives and current problems in Czech education. Important topics are social inclusion, personal development, social capital, equal access to education. At the end of the course, the students will be able to: - Define the basic pedagogical terms. - Explain the basics and the structure of pedagogy as a part of the social sciences. - Explain the topical issues of the pedagogy and outline the possibilities to solve them, based on the reading and own experience. - Evaluate the importance of the topics covered for the theory and practice.
Syllabus
  • 1. Pedagogy as a science and basic concepts: education, education, socialization, enculturation, inclusion. 2. Basic pedagogical categories (goal, content, means, conditions, methods, organizational forms). 3. The essence of the new education movement, reform pedagogy. Concepts, leaders, directions, works, concept. 5. Significant curricular documents: FEP. 6. Individual and social importance of education, right to education, equal access to education, social inequality in education, education and social justice. 7. Evaluation of a child. Approaches to assessing and evaluating a child in the educational process. Promoting the self-esteem and self-esteem of the child. Education to values. 8. Family from pedagogical point of view. School and family cooperation. Current problems in parental education. 9. Educational concepts of selected teachers (A. S. Makarenko, A. S. Neill, J. Korczak, H. von Schoenebeck, V. Příhoda etc.)
