Course objectives
Aims: - vocabulary enlargement with the focus on pronunciation (work with texts for listening, reading, writing and speaking); - developing language skills and systems (i.e. reading, speaking, listening, and writing with understanding); - creating life-long language-learning habits; - understanding the pronunciation system.
Learning outcomes
Creating a life-long language-learning habits. Understanding the phonemic chart. Proper pronunciation of the individual phonemes of the chart. Proper pronunciation of the phonemes in words. Understanding of the suprasegmental area.

Teaching methods
1) 2 consultations - the first consultation is based on your placement test and on you reading of Laura and Dolly (further plan for your language growth is established in terms of both practical language and pronunciation) - 50 points for the consultations (30 points for the first consultation, 20 points maximum for the next consultation - depending on the progress) 2) placement test - please, watch out for emails and do the test before your first lesson - 20 points 3) oral test - pronunciation - 50 points 4) written test - practical language - 50 points 5) your journal - 30 points (journal is a special notebook - will be further explained) Pass mark: 70% i.e. 140 points (maximum number of points: 200)
