Course objectives
The course objective is to provide a deeper insight into the scientific approach to evaluation of a geography coursebooks, or a set of coursebooks the part of which are electronic media.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to evaluate theoretical and practical quality of contemporary geography textbooks, to carry out research analyzes of domestic and foreign textbooks and to evaluate / exploit the potential of textbooks for teaching geography at elementary and secondary schools.

  • 1.Geography textbooks research: psychodidactic and curricular approach. 2. The functions of geography textbooks. 3. Structural components and content quality of geography textbooks. 4. Selection and use of geography textbooks. 5. Evaluation of geography textbooks   and determining its effects. 6. Research of geography textbooks - theory and practice.
