Course objectives
Upon successful completion of the module , students will be able to: • Understand the contribution of human resources management and organizational success in sport ; • Identify appropriate human resources strategy for various situations and events in sport ; • Analyze different organizational structures and cultures and understand their strengths and weaknesses ; • Effectively participate in the processes of managing people , with due regard to the requirements of the labor law; • Evaluate the effectiveness of these processes in seasonal and highly flexible organization of working in the sports industry ; • Develop their reflective , analytical, communication and creative skills necessary for personal development score
Syllabus
  • Contents: Lectures and seminars are devoted to the following topics : 1) The development of management theory 2 ) Organizational strategy and personnel policy 3 ) Organizational structure and culture , values 4 ) Job design and job specification 5 ) The recruitment, selection and retention of employees 6 ) Training and commissioning work 7 ) Performance management and labor law 8) Motivation, motivational theory and practice , job satisfaction 9) Styles of leadership, transactional and transformational leadership 10) Evaluation of employees 11) Remuneration 12) The problems of seasonality and management of volunteers 13) Personal development planning and continuing professional development of staff Within these topics , students are made familiar with the theory and practice of effective human resources management in the workplace and key people management processes , such as job design , recruitment , selection, motivation and performance management of employees in sport organizations , taking into account the importance of organizational culture and strategy of the institution

Teaching methods
Lecture and workshop using various case studies and other resources. Supplemented by independent learning. The lecture provides students with an overview of the topic and the seminar will allow students to extend their understanding of the issue while developing analytical, presentation skills and managing their own performance. Self-study (Preparation for seminars) is a prerequisite for participation in the seminars so that they are able and active participation in order to contribute to the development of their evaluation and reflective skills that are crucial for the effective management of human resources.
Assessment methods
Group or individual work on an assigned or chosen topic in the field of personnel management organization or sports events (min 15 pages of text / student).The aim is to develop students' skills : • application of knowledge and data presentation • Communication / presentation - both orally and in writing , • Time management , self- efficiency • Career Management • Self-evaluation / reflection, including awareness and management of emotions • Interpersonal skills, negotiation and persuasion, which, in the presentation of the work will be assessed together with the material aspect of an essay.
