Course objectives
To gain knowledge about basic measurement methods and construction of field tests and how to use them to acquire the skills and experience needed for measuring and testing in physical education and sport.
Learning outcomes
After successfully completing the course student will:
- have basic knowledge of field test theory and measurement,
- know the difference between standardized and non-standardized tests,
- be able to choose a suitable standardized test for motor ability testing,
- know the procedure of standardized tests of coordination abilities and will be able to use it in practice,
- know the procedure of standardized tests of strength and conditioning abilities and will be able to use it in practice,
- have knowledge of motor skills tests,
- know testing systems for fitness assessment,
- be able to evaluate the risks of testing and measurement, and will be able to identify factors that may influence test performance,
- have an overview of the instruments and devices used for testing and measurement,
- be able to record, process and evaluate the data obtained from testing and measurement,
- be able to interpret acquired data and compare it with standards and data from other research.
Syllabus
  • Thematic units:
  • - introduction to testing and measurement theory,
  • - standardized tests, test systems and measurement recording,
