Course objectives
This course familiarizes students with the most common surgical procedures which apply in chest and abdomen and diseases and musculoskeletal injuries.
Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will have an overview of basic surgical diseases and their solutions.
Syllabus
  • 01. Preparation for surgery - total examination.
  • 02. Preparation for surgery - surgical wound disinfection, sterilization.
  • 03. The operational procedures - surgical technique, wound closures, tools and materials.
  • 04. Post-operative response - observation, correlation circulation, hypoxia, diuresis, inner intermediate.
  • 05. Examination of the patient - physical methods.
  • 06. Examination of the patient - ECG, ultrasound, X-ray. CT, MRI.
  • 07. Numbness - local anesthetics, total (hypnotics, analgesics, muscle relaxants).
  • 08. Shock - types, stages, treatment.
  • 09. Dressings - depending on material, purpose, principles of management; Orthoses - prostheses.
  • 10. Cover wounds - open, closed, materials.
  • 11. Oncology - chemotherapy, radiotherapy, staging, grading, TNM.
  • 12. Neck Surgery - thyroid, arteries, tracheotomy.
  • 13. Surgery of the chest - heart defects, treatment, lung surgery.
  • 14. abdominal surgery - stomach, duodenum, small intestine and surgery of the colon.
  • 15. Surgery of the rectum - colostomy, urinary incontinence.
  • 16. Surgery of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen surgery.
  • 17. acute abdomen, peritonitis circumscripta, diffusa.
  • 18. Haemoperitoneum; appendicitis acuta.
  • 19. CNS surgery - approaches, types of operations, peripheral nerve surgery - diagnosis and therapy.
  • 20. Liver, kidney, heart - diagnosis, indications, design.
  • 21. tendon surgery - hand, Achilles tendon - diagnosis and therapy.
  • 22. Microsurgery - replantation, indications, design.
  • 23. Urology - Surgical kidney, urine. bladder, prostate.
  • 24. Incontinence - diagnosis, therapy (male female).
  • 25. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
