Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to know:
- relationships between health and physical activity
- determine the limits of physical activity for the purpose of the individual
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to know:
- principles of prevention and therapy in cases of health problems physical active peoples, e.g. athletes.
Syllabus
  • 01. Introduction, branche of sports medicine, information sources.
  • 02. Cardiovascular questions in sport, risk of cardiac complication and sudden death in sport. Stress ECG.
  • 03. Prevention of sports injuries (acute injuries, injuries of overstress, insufficiency od respiratory, circulatory systems and metabolism). Preventive medical examens.
  • 04. Physical activity and health - optimal movement regimen. Risks of hypokinesy (civilizational disorders) and overloading.
  • 05. Helath backup of sport trainings and competitions, and other exercises. Role of medical officer. Prevention and solution of health problems.
  • 06. Health risks during sport and exercise in children, seniors and women.
  • 07. Diabetes mellitus adn sport. Migraine and sport.
  • 08. Asthma bronchiale and sport.
  • 09. Health risks of doping in sport.
