Course objectives
understand the basic areas and concepts of occupational therapy occupational therapy history models of practise specific and non specific occupational therapy activities of daily living (ADL) occupationl therapy tests assistive devices applying acquired knowledge to use occupational therapy in patients with various types of diagnoses
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- understand basic areas and concepts in ergotherapy;
- describe models of practice: specific and non-specific ergotherapy, ADL ergotherapy tests and compensatory aids;
- use of acquired knowledge to apply ergotherapy in patients with different types of diagnosis.
Syllabus
  • 01. Occupational therapy as a part of rehabilitation, shor term and long term occupational therapy plan.
  • 02. Basics of social and vocational rehabilitation, communication with the patient.
  • 03. Materials and technical conditions of occupational therapy.
  • 04. Quality of life and activities of daily living, personal assistance, assistive devices, architectural barriers.
  • 05. Assesment and testing in occupational therapy, ergodiagnostic.
  • 06. Occupational therapy in clinic disciplines.
  • 07. Occupational therapy in workshops.
  • 08. Occupational therapy in special pedagogical disciplines.
  • 09. The use of parts of other therapies in occupational therapy.

Teaching methods
Lectures: theoretical preparation, discussion on individual topics, presentations and videos.
Assessment methods
The final evaluation will be in the form of a written exam, it is necessary to meet min. 70%, and regular attendance 90%.
