Basic swimming skills, techniques of swimming methods of breaststroke, backstroke and crawl.

Course objectives
Students will acquire basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills of swimming sport from the point of view of its development, importance for human health, swimming education and the first aid from the point of view of their future pedagogical practice.
Learning outcomes
After the course the student can:
- characterize the basic structure of swimming lessons;
- apply their knowledge in the methodology of teaching swimming;
- construct the swimming unit according to the level and the number of wards;
- assess swimming technique, based on the identification of errors to formulate proposals for their correction;
- evaluate the specific situation and apply the skills to save the drowning;

Teaching methods
Practical training in the form of exercises and theoretical instruction in the form of on-line lectures.
Assessment methods
The course is terminated after:
- passing a written and oral on-line examination;
- writting out a methodical output;
- fulfilling the required attendance in practical lessons.
The written exam is awarded to the student on the basis of successful completion of the final written test, in which he proves theoretical knowledge. In the oral exam the student should demonstrate the ability to apply this knowledge in swimming practice.
