Course objectives
The aim of the subject is following:
- Familiarization with characteristics of group fitness classes and their structure
- Familiarization with the structure of the individual classes
- Familiarization with the music used in this types of classes
- Familiarization with the correct execution of an individual steps
- Familiarization with the terminology used in group classes
- Familiarization with teaching methods used in all kinds of group classes and their application into the practise
- Familiarization with aids used in conditioning training and group fitness classes (fitness balance equipment: TRX, flowtonic, flexibars….)
- Familiarization with the base workouts of Body and Mind classes (Power yoga – Sun Salutation, asana, Pilates – workouts suitable for beginners…).
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- To form different group classes
- To lead the group class using the correct methods, terminology …. according the rules presented in seminars

Practical exercises supplemented by a theoretical explanation

- written and graphic preparation of the group class
- student s microteaching: the part of the group class
- video of the chosen class (duration 15 to 30 min)
- assessment of 3 videos in application "peer assessment" in IS
- activity in seminars (2 missed classes possible)
