Course objectives
Within the course the students gain the latest knowledge about nutrition and its role in the prevention of civilization diseases, the role of nutrients, recommended doses by age groups, burden and disease, role of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytochemicals, fiber. In addition, they will learn about the role of nutrition in the treatment of illnesses that they can most often encounter in their practice (selected civilization diseases, metabolic syndrome, obesity, diabetes mellitus, malnutrition - celiac disease, Crohn's disease, osteoporosis, anemia, diseases, gall bladder diets). The graduate will be able to compare the recommendations of alternative nutrition with generally accepted basic medical recommendations. On the basis of the acquired knowledge, he will be able to make nutritional recommendations for selected individuals in relation to the disease. The lessons will be practiced at the hospital's internal department.
Learning outcomes
Student will:
1. Know nutritional recommendations in health, prevention of illness and treatment of diseases;
2. Understand the role of nutrition in the treatment of selected diseases;
3. apply recommendations in practice;
4. to promote nutrition recommendations for patients with a disease;
5.porn and analyze nutritional guidelines and diets that are alternative;
6. Evaluate and critically think about alternative nutritional directions.
